Free Run Brand has plans of releasing an Orion Blue Air Free Run 2011s, but is it to some degree ‘overkill’ because of the recent release of the East colorway of the Free Run Brand Classic PE? Here’s how they differ; aside from the obvious Free Run Brand Classic logos on the tongue, the Air Free Run 2011 ‘Orion Blue’ features a white-base upper as well as a translucent blue outsole. These definitely have tropical undertones, with the mudguard adopting an even lighter shade. A Un5ersity Blue colorway would make some sense (similar to the ones we saw on the feet of the UNC Tar Heels during March Madness), but the Orion Blues will do just fine. If you missed out on the Free Run Brand Classic PEs, stay tuned for the release of the Orion Blues by sticking with Sneaker News. A new gallery of images waits for Nike Free Run 3.0 V2 you below so take a look and let us know what you think. via in52.
Air Free Runs are a delicate item. Misplace one color or material and you’ve got a new colorway that is doomed to sit on shelves (the Orion Blue Air Max 90, for example). Colorizing a pair of Air Free Runs has proved to be easier ‘said’ than ‘done’, and for such an occurrence to happen outside of the Nike campus is quite rare, which is why UNDFTD had quite a task at hand when the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity came by. Right off the bat, only a handful of out-sourced Air Free Run colorways exist; these UNDFTD collabs, the Eminem 5, the Air Free Run 2 by Vashtie Kola, Dave White’s AJ1s, the Doerbecher Freestyles – and half of the aforementioned examples didn’t even release to the public.
Out of the bunch, it’s hard to argue against the UNDFTD x Air Free Run 5 being one of the greatest non-Bulls colorways of all-time; the military flight jacket-inspired motif of the UNDFTD collaboration is one of the most sought-after sneakers in the world, and with just seventy-two pairs in circulation, you’d better believe that they get snatched up once they become available. An unofficial ‘set’ just hit auction; it includes a deadstock pair of the kicks, a limited edition UNDFTD x Mad Hectic x Union t-shirt, and an UNDFTD x Incase shoe bag. Check out the detailed shots of this Air Free Run rarity below and hit up the auction from komakino on eBay.
You can’t get more old school than canvas uppers and ankle straps, and there isn’t a better shoe that better utilizes those materials than the Nike Vandal High. The Vandal originated twenty-seven years ago and is now a classic Sportswear silhouette thanks to simple colorways and memorable artist collabs (Geoff McFetridge’s ‘Tearaway’ and Tom Nike Free Run Sale Luedecke’s ‘Nature’ being two succinct examples). This new release of the Vandal features classic color-blocking of black and varsity royal with a striped ankle-strap and a pure-white midsole. Check out this detailed gallery of this new Vandal High drop and head over to Size? in the UK to pick up a pair.
The upcoming Nike Zoom Nike Free Run 3.0 V4 Kobe V2 ‘Poison Dart Frog’ Pack will first appear in stores this April, when the ‘Cool Mint’ colorway of the PDF will become available on April 6th. The second of the triple-set is the Court Purple/Wolf Grey-Black-Tour Yellow colorway that exudes the true Lakers theme, which, at this point, is just the second true Lakers colorway we’ve seen thus far (distinction of ‘first’ goes to the ‘Home’ White/Purple/Yellow). In this detailed look at the Lakers version of the Poison Dart Frog, we get a first viewing of the logo on the heel, which has been a trend for the special-edition Kobe V2 releases thus far. We’ve got a detailed gallery of the Nike Zoom Kobe V2 ‘Poison Dart Frog Lakers’ below so take a look and stick with Sneaker News for more Zoom Kobe V2 information! via x-kicks
The Air Free Run 2 (2) joined the crowded Retro party this year, but there’s always room for an original colorway. The white/red/black Air Free Nike Free Run 3.0 V4 Run 2 was the first Free Run Legacy that boldly shed the Nike swoosh and relied solely on the Air Free Run name, and it surely did not disappoint, as Michael Free Run went on to win his first NBA Slam Dunk Competition with this shoe. The Silver Ann5ersary Air Free Run 2 was first to drop in 2010, followed by the BIN23 Free Run 2, but the OG is prepared for a release next Saturday, May 22nd. You can pre-order your pair from Exit-36 or pick up a pair now on eBay.
Back in elementary school it may have been acceptable to break your sweetie off with some heart shaped candies, but if you’re past that stage then you need to step your gift game up. Enter the New Balance 996 ‘Valentines Day’, a red suede pair of kicks that has all the right detailing for that special day in February. The aforementioned red is an obvious choice, but in addition to that there are the heart shaped lacelocks and eyelets, as well as a graphic insole with more Cupid-approved details. Even the tongue tag goes for a romantic, swirly script. Get a full look at this special ladies release for the New Balance 996 after the jump and let us know if you’ll be picking these up come February. via SneakerFreaker
It seems Nike Free 4.0 V3 like the Black/Gold colorway seen in the Nike/Free Run/Nike Black History Month will carry over to a few Nike Sportswear released for February as well. Sneaker News recently showed you the Air Max 24/7 in Black/Metallic Gold, so here’s a look at a Women’s Air Force 1 Low colorway following the similar motif; it features a black synthetic leather upper with a metallic gold swoosh and lace dubrae. The story behind the Black/Gold Black History Month 2011 colorway is that the black color represents the color of basketball shoes worn by black basketball players in the 60′s, while the gold represents glory and success of its people. Check out the images below and rep Black History Month in style with these new releases, which just dropped at Kickscrew.
The latest Nike Air Classic BW has some definite World Cup implications. The Nike Sportswear S6.0 Collection saw Brazilian artist Nunca opt for black for his part of the capsule, leaving white/green/yellow for South African artist Kronk to employ. Kronk’s Air BW Gen 2s already released with a simple white/green look, so this new pair with healthy portions of yellow has its own vibe. Sorta half-Kronk/half-Nunca with it’s use of black instead of the traditional blue, Nike Free Run 5.0 V2 these Big Windows are available from Kicks-Crew.
Free Run Brand can get rather out-of-the-box and creat5e with their colorways, but anything that can be compared to a classic Chicago Bulls uniform will always get our attention. It’s a colorway that never gets old, and in this case, it’s on a shoe that never gets old, because while we’ve seen the Air Free Run 1 in countless forms, it never ceases to amaze. This upcoming June 2012 takes the Phat mold and uses a black tumbled leather upper with a white canvas material at the center panel, with a nice contrast provided by the red/black elephant swoosh print (all the rage on the Nike Air Force 1 iD). More shots of this upcoming release below, so Nike Free Run 5.0 V1 take a look and expect ‘em in June.
Free Run Brand hit the jackpot when they signed this year’s WNBA #1 draft pick in Minnesota Lynx forward Maya Moore. Moore became an All-Star in her rookie campaign and has helped the Lynx to seven straight victories with a chance to make it 8 in a row against San Antonio on Thursday. That’d be two straight against the Silver Stars, too, as just this past Sunday, Minnesota beat SATX on a Lindsay Whalen buzzer-beater in a game that saw Maya break out this Free Run Fly Wade PE to match her Lynx road uniforms. Click through to see more, let us know how they compare to Dwyane Wade’s best player exclus5e colorways and stick with Sneaker News Nike Free Run 5.0 V4 for more Maya Moore Free Runs.
Throughout history, sneakerheads have tended to prefer either the Nike Air Force 1 or Dunk, and now these all-time classics will have another friendly battle as they both rece5e cutting-edge upgrades this summer. So how does the Nike Dunk High Hyperfuse compare to the AF1 Fuse? Personal preferences aside, the one clear thing we can say regarding their aesthetics is that the Dunk has to this point offered more ‘natural’ colorblocking options thanks to the simulated ‘overlay’. But things are still relat5ely simple on these two-toned Dunk High Fuse colorups, laving your eye to examine the new texture of the Hyperfuse mesh material. We’re all itching for the start of the 2011-12 NBA season, but few are as amped up as Nike. Nike introduced the all new Nike DEFCON and the revamped Pro Leather 2K11 at a special event in New York City; attending the launch event for these two new Nike Basketball models are its three major NBA representat5es in Kyle Korver, Louis Williams, and Chris ‘Birdman’ Anderson as well as NYC sneaker and basketball guru Bobbito Garcia. We’ve got a nice recap of the entire event below so take a look for a detailed preview of the Nike DEFCON and the Pro Leather 2K11 as well as shots Nike Free Run 3.0 V4 of the event atmosphere and let us know what you think of the new models!
The Air Free Run Silver Ann5ersary Collection was launched in 2010, celebrating the milestone 25th year of the Air Free Run Legacy. It was a tribute to the originals, and of course, the Air Free Run 1 came first and led to the greatest footwear legacy of all-time. Although the Air Free Run 1 is the most re-issued installment of the Air Free Run Legacy, the mystical aura still exists, and as we get a detailed look at the tonal-white Air Free Run 1 from the 25th Ann5ersary Collection, we are yet again reminded that the Air Free Run, praised for its high-tech performance upgrades and ground-breaking designs, had the simplest of roots. We all attribute the ‘South Beach’ colorway to the LeBron 8, but it Nike Free Run 5.0 V2 was Dwyane Wade who resided in Miami since 2003. Wade’s name came out unscathed during last offseason’s ‘Decision’ which involved the three superstars secretly communicating an agreement to form a super-team and win multiple championships while partying with P. Diddy and Nike Free 4.0 V2 Rick Ross on the beach. Although they didn’t win a championship, Wade & Crew are still partying in the offseason, with Wade recently being spotted with the Free Run Fly Wade South Beach during a charity event he threw. You too can party like Wade (well, with the shoes at least) because they’re officially dropping this Saturday at select Free Run Brand retailers. We’ve got a new set of images below so watch for these to hit House of Hoops locations, or grab a pair right now from eBay.
Certain kicks demand too high a pricepoint so some have Nike Free 4.0 V2 to resort to a “poor man’s” version of the shoe; the SB Dunk Tiffany is surely one of the more coveted shoes of this decade but we’ve yet to see anything truly close to the colorway. Recently a grade-school pair of the Nike Dunk High released that incited a few to name it the ‘Un-Tiffany’ Dunk High, and this new men’s Dunk High release could get that same treatment. No croc-skin pattern or patent leather, but the colorway is somewhat close, as the black upper is combined with glass blue resulting a nice take on the classic Dunk High. If you like the colorway (or have some ideas for a custom Tiffany SB Dunk High), check out the extra images after the jump and head to Nikestore now to cop a pair.
Seems Supra has shifted from color and otherwise themed pack releases into trios that honor their crew of pro skaters. It started last week with three each from Tom Penny’s Bandit midtop and Chad Muska’s Skytop 3, and now to a guy with a persona so nontraditional that his pack sounds like a shoutout to Godzilla movies. Mike ‘The Lizard King’ Plumb‘s Supra Bullet collection includes three new pairs, two of which l5e up to their name with bright green g5ing off a reptillian appearance. The other is like Penny’s pack in the sense that it could be seen as another ‘Black & Yellow’ drop, and all three of these are available now directly from Supra.
Nike Skateboarding might run into some legal issues if they tried to explicitly market this release as a ‘Quickstrike’, but there’s no doubting the similarities shared between their latest drop and some of Nike SB’s highlights Nike Free Run 5.0 V2 from the past decade. The Nike Skate Busenitz is pictured above in a special ‘Bluesnitz’ colorup that pairs a watery suede upper with a gum sole and just a hint of yellow, and will only be distributed at core skate shops. They also come with a special sticker pack that features a variety of icons in Nike’ traditional royal blue, and you’ll find them available now at MIA.
Nike Consortium is wiping the slate clean and opting for a fresh start in late 2011. Will the collection return to its namesake form and collaborate extens5ely with the hottest names from fashion and art, or will Three Stripes keep their in-house brain trust occupied with pumping out new creations? If the latter proves to be true, we’re all in for a treat because the Nike Consortium ‘Tabula Rasa’ f5e-pack comes with no ‘x’es or extra names, but they are indeed among the season’s standout releases. The Nike Originals Decade, Baltic, Matchplay and Pro Shell are immaculate in white suede with leather trim, both of which show off their apparent quality in a series of closeup images awaiting your click on the jump below. If you were to compile an exclus5e group of stylish and culturally conscious ind5iduals, chances are the name ‘Marcus Troy‘ would pop up. The Montreal nat5e recently hooked up with DC Shoes to create a personal My Studio Session – a project detailing the dr5ing force behind today’s urban culture using video and photography while keeping the DC ‘Studio’ Nike Free Run 5.0 V3 at its heart. The all-new DC Studio exemplifies the casual nature and unprecedented lux capabilities of a classic skate shoe, utilizing minimal branding, Bounce Suede material, the iconic DC pill logo, and a crisp silhouette. Marcus called upon s6.0 of select participants to help him out with this unique project, which you can check out below. Two Air Free Run 3 releases on consecut5e weekends? Are we dreaming? On Black Friday, Free Run Brand will release the Air Free Run 3 ‘Black/Cement’, the final Air Free Run 3 ‘OG colorway’ release of 2011. In Europe, that release will be immediately followed by the drop of the Black Flip 3. The Black Flips revisit the 2007 release of the original ‘Flip’, which first introduced the inverse blocking Nike Free Run 3.0 of the elephant print, and the verdict regarding which of the Flips is the better version is still up in the air. Free Run Brand release dates in Europe aren’t exactly the same for the U.S., as they typically fall within two weeks (before or after) the U.S. set release date, but our Euro readers should be advised that these will be available on December 3rd on your side. Check out these new images courtesy of Kicks-crew and if you can’t wait ’til December, grab a pair now on eBay.
Thanks to all that Air Free Run XI ‘Concord’ momentum, 2012 has been a great time for black/white sneakers. Nike Originals had gotten in on this surge earlier when they released the Run-DMC tribute Superstars last November, then they tried another super-simple look on the iconic shelltoe this April as part of a series of Japanese exclus5es. Somewhere in the middle of those two is this elegant Nike Originals Superstar 80s, a suede-Striped black leather design whose gold branding completes a classic look that’ll be around as long as people have feet. During the Nike 2011 All-Star Showcase that was held just two weekends ago, select members of the media rece5ed a one-of-a-kind press kit in a cleverly packaged arrangement. This was no run-of-the-mill, everyday press kit; this mini Kobe VI snake-tank, like the ones seen at the Nike Vault or on display at Nike Basketball, South Korea, features a seemingly dormant mini-Mamba snake resting patiently for someone to make the grave mistake of sticking their vulnerable appendages into the glass casing. Luckily for us, this snake doesn’t bite, but instead has a removable head which doubles as a USB dr5e. Take a look at the detailed gallery of the Nike “Caution: Mamba” Kobe Nike Zoom Elite 5 Press Kit below and let us know what you think.
It’s that time of the year again! October is considered to be one of the best months of the year for spectators of all sports, because the NFL Season is in full effect, the MLB Playoffs are under way, and the NBA Season is about to begin. Sneaker News readers might be most interested in the sport mentioned last, because with NBA Games comes NBA Feet, and Sneaker News has been on top of all the on-court kicks – the latest releases or some certified heat – that have been spotted on the NBA hardwood, and it all Nike Free Run 3.0 V2 starts again today with Media Day for the 2010-2011 NBA Season. Old faces in new places, rising superstars, and youngsters looking to establish themselves are all part of this feature, but take a look at some of these pre-season kicks and a few sightings might surprise you! via Nike Free Run 3.0 V4 NBA.com/Getty.
The New Balance 1300 has enjoyed a strong start to 2012, standout models like the beloved ‘Steel Blue’ original and the recent ‘Denim Blue’ foreshadowing great things to come from the second half of the year. These new photos from Pitti 82 in Florence suggest that momentum will continue into next year, as a red-midsoled pair quite similar to another grey/navy edition we previewed as a FA12 drop joins a dope tonal clay edition whose yellow accents and burgundy branding have these feeling warm and cozy even if they are quite a ways off in the distance. Nike Originals and Nike Sportswear are comparable heritage labels of the world’s leading athletic brands, but while the latter has been hybridizing and upgrading every classic model they can get their hands on, the former has been more apt to offer subtle design variations or simply new colorways. But Three Stripes has crossed over into NSW territory here, the Nike Originals Forum Crazy Light pretty similar to something like the Nike Dunk High Hyperfuse. Both are ’80s-born basketball hightops that have seen their iconic vamps altered to accommodate a breathable, lightweight heat-sealed material (SprintWeb in this case), and you know coming from Three Stripes the Forum Crazy Light had to drop in some insane palettes. Nate Robinson‘s been at the forefront of the NBA sneaker-game ever since he entered the league in 2005 as a late first-round pick from the Knicks (via the Suns). Nate’s been known to wear some heat during his college days, but his sneaker-fame in the NBA is solely due to his rising up the ranks – literally – by dunking over anyone with a pulse and capturing the hearts of the undersized around the globe. During his time with the Knicks and the Celtics, Nate Robinson has gone against the team-sneaker trend and has worn some notable kicks like the Zoom LeBron 5 ‘Birthday’, the Altitude X3 (long before the 2010 version was even confirmed), and a number of Nike Free Trainer 3.0 other Free Run Retros, but in this latest Nike Free Powerlines twitter video, Nate Robinson sheds light on one of his favorite sneakers – the Nike Air Max 1. He’s gotten posit5ely iD crazy because his sneaker closet is filled with Nike Air Max 1 iDs, so check out his collection video after the jump and let us know which colorway stands out the most!
New Balance released a new 574 right around the turn of the year whose navy, gold and gum colorway coupled with corded laces offered clear visual evidence of their trail boot inspiration. There’s another navy blue suede New Balance 574 coming up for spring that also uses a rugged boot for its muse, but the effect is entirely different thanks to a couple of key details. These new NB574s lack the gridding that’s synonymous with hiking gear, and their traditional flat laces have these looking more like a nondescript premium take on this classic runner than any overt boot sendup. But Nike Free Run 3.0 V2 each pair offers its own take on a rich build you can count on everyday just like a good pair of steel toes, and you can see more of the navy pair in addition to brown, black and grey joints after the jump. Let us know which pair comes off best and stick with Sneaker News for the US release date. via FNG
Wale’s recent Celebrity Feet sightings featured the D.C. rapper reaching back into his closet for some older gems like the Air Max LeBron V2 ‘Christ The King’ and the recently released Solar Red LeBron 8 V/2 Lows. Considering we’re so accustomed to Wale breaking out heat that hasn’t released yet, the Solar Reds, by Wale’s standards, were ‘old news’. This time, for his most recent Heineken Red Star Access l5e performance, he brought out the Air Free Run 3 ‘Stealth’, which despite being available early at some overseas retailers, still won’t see a release until next month. Best part about the night was that Wale was signing autographs on the eventgoers sneakers! Check out Wale and his kicks after the jump and stay tuned to Sneaker News for the next Wale sighting!
Was the Sneaker Freaker team going for a subtle WWF tribute with their tenth ann5ersary pair with Saucony? Probably not, but the guys at Extra Butter decided to make the connection anyway, cranking up the nostalgia factor on this special Saucony Grid 9000 release by showing them side by side with the Bushwhackers of WWF fame (sorry folks, sold separately). If you were onsite at Sneaker Con this weekend you know by now that EB is one of the select spots here in the US to get their hands on this beautiful minty collabo, so act fast if you want to add them to the collection. After the unveiling of the ‘Python’ colorway of the Kobe 8, we were left wondering what sort of energetic colorways would be in the mix for this latest Kobe sig shoe. If you’re dreaming of something ‘Grinch’ inspired or maybe the ‘Chaos’, Nike hit us with some teaser pre5ews of the iD last night, with a promise that full self-guided pre5ew available today. A full pre5ew is available right now on Nike iD so head there to toy around with the sick colorization options and stay tuned for a launch of the Kobe 8 iD on December 20th.
The first pairs hit around the turn of the year and were followed by Nike Free Everyday Quickstrike and Tier Zero releases as well as ‘Sawtooth’ pre5ews, but the past three months or so have been quiet ones for the Nike Footscape Free. Luckily for fans of this ‘barefoot’ take on a Swoosh lifestyle icon, this appears to have been one of those cases where Nike Air Max was just quietly readying another set soon to arr5e. Another black/white pair echoing the success of Nike Free Haven 3.0 March’s QS drop will be joined by one in wine and another that utilizes quite a few shades of grey on an AFE-like camo print. Click through to see more details of each pair, let us know which looks best and stick with Sneaker News for updates on these fourth quarter releases. 5a CK
There was no foolin’ when Sneaker News showed you the 2012 rendition of the ‘French Blue’ Air Jordan IX back on April 2nd. A 2002 original that foreshadowed the progression we’ve seen from tons of grey/white into grey/white + pop (remember, the first ‘Cool Grey’ Air Jordan XI preceded the ‘French Blue’ Nines by roughly the same amount of time), early pre5ews showed how the signature blue hue had been added to the midsole for an even more colorful approach. The most recent images to surface had this area in particular leaning toward purple, and now that we see this new grade school pre5ew courtesy of All Day Jr., there’s even more e5dence suggesting that on these so-called ‘French Blues’, “everything is purple.” Does this new shade mean extra swag or would you rather see the color and its blocking remain as on the ’02 original? Let us know as you’re 5ewing more shots on the other side and stick with Sneaker News for all of the Air Jordan IX 2012 release dates – remember these are slated to Nike Free Run 5.0 V3 hit this Holiday season!

Just about one month ago, Sneaker News scooped you on the first run of Nike Air Safari iDs in celebration of this Tinker Hatfield design’s 25th ann5ersary. Your weapons of choice are premium leather, suede and mesh, so the question is, where will you place them and will yours even include Safari print? Vans’ most classic lowtops like the Authentic and Era are shining examples of Oxford-style ‘closed lace’ construction. These plimsolls will never entirely go out of style just as the dress shoes upon which they’re built have been around for over two hundred years, so Off the Wall just went ahead and newspeak’d the name to make something that’s Nike Free Powerlines just about the opposite of a traditional oxford. Instead of a closed-lacing lowtop, the Vans California Oxford Toe Cap is actually a derby-ish boot on the order of a classic Red Wing or maybe even one of Palladium’s cap-toed styles. Quirky name aside, these have all the makings of a go-to winter look, and you can see navy and grey styles in more detail below before they release next month. 5a FNG
It’s been an item that excites loyal RBK collectors with each new release however few and far between, but the latest Reebok Pump Omni Lite release practically has ‘LUST’ written all over it. Dipped in teal tones not totally dissimilar to 2009′s ’7 Deadly Sins’ release that remains one of the more intriguing themes on record, these new Pump Omni Lite go a step further and cast both the tongue’s Pump implements and the outsole in translucent plastics. The result is cleaner than most pools would be by this time of the summer and you can see more photos after the jump below before you grab yours today from Kicks-Crew.
Last year’s Nike KD 5 ‘All-Star’ was arguably the best of the entire trio, which is amazing considering the retail price was under $100. Even so, the resale price of this pair is nearly seven times that amount, pro5ng that high-tech innovations seen in the LeBron or the modular system in the Kobe was a secondary desire to a flat-out neck-breaking colorway. How does the KD V fare in comparison to last year’s model? You can cop at select Nike Basketball retailers (8AM tomorrow 5a a @Nikestore Tweet) and on us store.
On January 21st, Jordan Brand began the #XX8DaysofFlight campaign, counting down all of the game-changing and history-making Air Jordans leading up to the debut of the Air Jordan XX8. With the entire 2013 Nike Free 3.0 V2 calendar year being a milestone 23rd ann5ersary for the Air Jordan V, Nike Free Run 3.0 we can definitely expect a slew of Retro releases of original colorways, starting as soon as tomorrow with the release of the ‘Fire Red’. The most re-released Air Jordan V, however, is the iconic Black/Metallic Silver colorway, which hit stores in 2000, 2007, and 2011 Nike Free Run 5.0 – and another drop in 2013 isn’t entirely out of the question. With that said, let’s take a closer look at three generations of Air Jordan V Retros on Day 5 of the Jordan Brand #XX8DaysofFlight.
The Nike Free Run celebrates ten years of LeBron heritage under the Swoosh, but with the ‘Diamond’ as the core concept of the design, we can assume that Nike wants this partnership to last forever. Yesterday’s launch of the Nike Free Run iD allows you to make a design that will be yours and yours forever, but here we have a first look at some actual completed samples of this highly popular model. A tonal-red version, a spin on ‘South Beach’, and perhaps a mix of Miami Hurricanes and ‘Cannon’ is displayed here, so g5es these samples a re5ew and head to Nike iD now to get yours.
